Sunday Musical Styles and Periods Exploration: Any Level (Adults & Teens) - Summer26

This 6-week class includes a one-week break in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
This interactive piano class is designed for adults and teens with some prior piano or musical experience. Through a lecture-style and hands-on approach, students will explore a variety of musical styles, learning their origins, defining characteristics, and how to effectively perform them on the piano.
Each topic will include demonstrations and practical techniques, with examples provided at easy, intermediate, and advanced levels so students can continue developing their skills at home.
Topics Covered:
Ragtime
¾ Rhythms: Waltzes, Mazurkas, Minuets
6/8 Rhythms: Barcarolles, Jigs, Tarantellas
Twelve Bar Blues, and its influence
Classical period vs. Romantic period
Motown music

Monday Beginner Class A (Ages 7-9) - Summer26

This course is perfect for brand-new piano players ages 7-9 years old. Students will learn the fundamentals of piano in a fun and supportive environment, including basic hand position, simple rhythms, and introductory note reading.

This course is designed for students ages 10-13 years old who have already learned the basics of piano and are ready to continue building their skills. Students will review foundational concepts while expanding their knowledge through new songs, improved note reading, and more confident hand coordination.
In this class, we will focus on strengthening rhythm, exploring a wider range of notes, and developing better technique and musical expression in a fun and encouraging environment.

Boost your progress and expand your personal repertoire with focused, intentional practice. This class is intended for students ages 13-17 on summer break. With more free time available, this is a great opportunity to build skills faster, deepen your understanding, and see noticeable improvement in a shorter amount of time. Students will be given take home work at the end of each class and expected to practice a minimum of two hours each week.
